Rhodocrosite- Stars & Stones – Oct 10th – 16th, 2016 October 9, 2016

Okay…. Okay…. Did everyone make it through last week in one piece? It was touch and go for me in the middle of the week, but the Chrysocolla (and loving husband) supported me to the end. Thank you little green stone of power for your presence in our lives this last week!

Into the pocket this week to pack a powerful punch for relationships is Rhodochrosite. This stone has a chemical make up of MnCO3. It is in the same Carbonate family as Malachite, Calcite, Aragonite, and Dolomite to name a few. The name is from the Greek meaning “of rosy color” and was not named until the 1800’s. For a stone that is “officially” just about 200 years old, it has a lot of things going for it.

Colorado State named Rhodochrosite its state mineral in 2002 due to some very exquisite specimens from the Sweet Home Mine. It is Argentina’s National Gem. Historically mined for manganese content to be used in the manufacturing of stainless steel and aluminum alloys. It was disposed of into the tailings of silver mines for years. Since becoming a collector’s item, as its popularity has grown, the disposal of the specimens has been greatly reduced.

The color of Rhodochrosite can vary from pinks to reds, but it is also found as yellow, white, brown, and grey. The banding that to me is a distinguishing marker of Rhodochrosite is not always present as can be seen from the photograph from my personal collection above.

Now that we have a bit of the physical about Rhodochrosite out of the way, why are we putting it in our pocket this week?

Having a read of Divine Harmony’s forecast for the week, the word that jumped out at me for the week was relationships. She spoke quite a bit about our need for deep, truthful honesty in our relationships this week. I felt that she suggested that these would be our intimate relationships such as partners, family, and our closest friends.

Rhodochrosite is a stone of the heart. It calls out to help with the soothing of the heart. It delves into the closed, shadowed regions to bring light. While this stone is poking around in all the ancient hurts held tight dealing with love, Rhodochrosite reminds you to love yourself and extend that love to all around you.

Working with your heart chakra is not easy for most of us. We have been hurt by soooo many in our multiple incarnations and in THIS lifetime. Now the energies of this week are asking us to plunge into our hearts to look at our relationships (to include the one with our self) with all the honesty we can muster. The rose colored glasses must come off. No lying with our egos, no sugar coating with our family, our growth is emanate if we can make it through this week healing ourselves without hurting those around us in the process.

If you have a copy of the Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian, take a moment to read the section on Rhodochrosite. I think that the second paragraph of Naisha’s evaluation really talks to what is going on this week and how Rhodochrosite is step forward to help us this week.

Monday – relationships, honesty, deep truth, and fear embedded in our relationships is going to be surfacing today. Rhodochrosite is giving us the safety to look. The safety to express. The safety to love ourselves.

Tuesday- continuation of Monday, but looking at how we bridge the physical that we are in now with the spiritual we are all seeking and trying to hear. Obviously if the Rhodochrosite helped us through yesterday, it will step up for those same issues today with the added bonus of opening our hearts to the spiritual messages coming through the newer heart gateways.

Wednesday- radical relationship shifts, hear the Universe clearly versus following your ego. There is quite a bit of Rhodochrosite needed today. Letting Rhodochrosite hold your hand as your loved ones help you and themselves move into new spaces and possibly new roles. Allowing for the freedom from fear to let this happen, to change, is so hard. Rhodochrosite can illuminate the positive outcomes that are on the horizon if you can make this shift.

Thursday- avoidance with ROSE colored glasses. I want to be the ostrich with my head buried in the sand, but alas, the Universe, my guides, and all ….. they never allow that. Here is the Universe taking a very strong stand on looking at what we want from this life. Are we going to push for healing, surge forward in power to our path? Or are we going to opt for what we perceive to be the easier road? I am hoping that you spend a few moments today in mediation with the Rhodochrosite and face those harsh corners of your heart for growth.

Friday- be grounded, express deep emotions in relationships for healing- but not in anger!!! Okay, wish I had more for you, but this is Rhodochrosite. Ground through your heart with the strength of Rhodochrosite. Again, this stone allows you the safety to put yourself forward in a healing way in your relationships by expressing truth in a constructive way for you and the person you are communicating with.

Saturday- Hello Full Moon…….. relationships and truth….. My golly gees…. I am sure you have read and understood everything above. So, just keep doping what you are doing through this strong day of emotions!

Sunday- Finishing up the week by stepping into mastery, discipline and maturity according to Divine Harmony. Look at the growing up we have pulled off this week. Congratulate yourself with all that self love emanating from the Rhodochrosite in your pocket. What could be better?

In this week, there is truth, communication, shifting relationships. I want you to really remember that Rhodochrosite holds so much self love. Embrace yourself, forgive yourself, and grow this week……
