Sugilite- Stars & Stones – Dec 19th – 25th, 2016 December 18, 2016

A happy Winter Solstice, Yule, and/or Christmas to everyone. I hope that the last two weeks has been good for all. The malachite really was helpful for me this last week. Please remember that moment of thanks and cleansing for your stone.

I stopped counting down to Christmas and started the count for Yule even before I converted to Paganism. I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for a few years and really could not wait for the day that the sun began to come back. Since then I have found so many more reasons to celebrate this glorious week.

The Universe has brought Sugilite forward as the stone for this week. A little information about the more mundane knowledge of this mineral. It has a chemical makeup of KNa₂Fe₂³⁺(Li₃Si₁₂)O₃₀. It is in the Osumilite Group. I am not familiar with any of the other minerals in this group. It is named after Ken-ichi Sugi (1901-1948), Japanese petrologist, the first person to describe it in 1944. Sugilite is also called lavulite ( or luvulite). It was first discovered in Japan in the color of a greenish, yellowish, brown rock. Now with the discovery in colors ranging from pink to purple in South Africa, the pronunciation has become an issue. Ken-ichi Sugi used a hard g such as “goat” not the soft g that Americans seem to prefer.

The more interesting things to me is how Sugilite supports us in the physical and metaphysical aspects. Sugilite is a Crown Chakra stone without a doubt. Funneling information from that Crown to your Third Eye for your processing, this stone really helps get in touch with the Universe, your Guides, and your Guardians. You might have noticed that there is lithium in the chemical makeup. When this is in a stone, it is always calming. I have found that most of my favorite stones also contain manganese. These stones are always super loving.

Taking a look at 101 Power Crystals by Judy Hall, she gives the power of Living Your Truth to this stone. She also states, “This powerful stone brings angels of light and love into the darkest of situations, offering hope and helping you live in the truth.” It is also mentioned that this is a stone of unconditional love.

This is a great stone for cancer along with larimar. Of the mentors I have worked with over the last 10 years, these are the top two stones for use during cancer treatments. Sugilite works wonders on brain issues such as learning disorders.

Sugilite is a stone to wear for people who are empathic and tend to take on the emotions that they are around. Listen to your soul self’s reasons for being in this incarnation to find your path again with Sugilite.

Monday 19th- Mercury Retrograde starts today, we need to get clear on our needs and values right now. Okay , looking at Sugilite and how it fits today, this is about listening to our soul for our needs and getting our mental ducks in a row to be ready to implement those things as the stars change energies.

Tuesday- Aligning mind and heart, self-worth, self love issues, relationships. Sugilite brings the love of Divine down through the crown chakra and into the body, now the stars pick it up and help align the body and mind to bring the self worth and self love that the maganese promotes for the healing we are so in need of.

Wednesday- Happy Winter Solstice! Plant our seeds of intention for the coming year, another crack at self love and self worth. As already discussed, Sugilite helps us find our way to Live Your Truth and helps with unconditional love.

Thursday- some wake up/shake up energies in relationships. Hang onto that Sugilite for the Love it is bringing to you and your surroundings.

Friday- “Learning how to see what is AND what is possible is key for balance.” I am feeling like today is going to be a day just to hang onto your stone and ride it out. Think Love!

Saturday- time for major change and evolution in our lives. Here is Sugilite asking us to find our soul path and walk our talk!
